AT&T Next Limit

Does anyone know when or if there is a projected date for AT&T to upgrade the number of phones per contract allowed to participate in the NEXT program? I have 6 lines, but currently, only 4 are allowed to upgrade via NEXT. Any thoughts or advice would help. 🙂

Hey @jennipherann

Good news! I can confirm the start date for the allowed Next Line Limit increase is February 1st. Effective starting Sunday, the limit will be raised from 4 installment plans, to 10, which can include any combination of AT&T Next installments and up to 5 tablet installments. Eligibility is based upon credit, tenure, and account in good standing.

If this helps, please mark this answer as an accepted solution!

Thanks,

Charise

I think its going to stick to 4.  Att has that money on the line.  Maybe they will make it six but I doubt it.

I was just in an AT&T store in San Pedro, CA and they indicated AT&T would be opening up the NEXT to more than 4 phones in approximately 2 weeks.  I have 8 I need to upgrade.  I'll be waitint for a couple more weeks.

Please keep in mind that in AT&T customer service fashion the information provided to me may be bogus.

I hope they do allow more lines. The other carriers do so would be nice if they do as well.

I was told today by an AT&T rep that this policy is about to change. She was not sure exactly how many phones will be allowed on the Next program on one account but she thought the number would increase from 4 to 10. If they are going to eventually ditch the conventional 2 year agreement, I think they have no choice but to increase it from 4 lines in order to stay competitive.

Just encountered this issue with AT&T. Talked with rep at store and 611 customer service. I was told that the plan was going to change at some point, but would not offer a time frame. I already have one iPhone on NEXT and just purchased three more. I attempted to purchase another iPhone and was informed that it wasn't possible. Verizon will allow ten phones on their EDGE plan. On Monday, I will return the three new phones and switch to Verizon.
