ATT Lies - Free HBO for Unlimited Plus Customers a deceptive Lie?
I hope someone finds this post before considering ATT or upgrading to Unlimited Plus Multi-Line plan.
ATT wont honor the Free HBO for Unlimited Plus customers. I signed up for Unlimited Plus Wireless about a year and a half ago with 5 lines. I was supposed to get HBO for free and followed the steps a couple weeks ago to set up a DIRECTV Now account, Linked it to my ATT Wireless Account. I noticed 2 weeks ago when I logged in there was a big banner saying get your free HBO, which I knew I was entitled too but never got around to setting up. In any case I contact support, they add my Unlimited discount of $15.00 off and CSR said he was adding HBO For Free and Confirmed I was entitled to free HBO. CSR gave me confirmation # ****. He gave me this confirmation and I requested transcript via email (I have never received this) I took screenshots of everything just in case. CSR told me HBO would be on in 30 mins, 2 hours later it was still not on. Contacted support again, CSR Confirmed after much explaining that I was eligible for it but since there was no way to add it in there system he would have to escalate but that it should be on withing a day or two. Here we are weeks later with nothing but continued lies and deceptive advertisement and not fulfilling what customers signed up for in their Mobility Plan.
[Per Guidelines: Keep it Relevant and Appropriate].
Whats even more disappointing is I worked for a company that worked for Legacy DIRECTV, we handled large commercial projects such as Hotels, Stadiums, Account Classification etc. I signed up for this plan on the advice of DIRECTV at AT&T own conference in Nashville Tennessee. DIRECTV would have never lied and not fixed the problem.

How are you trying to watch HBO? Do you also have Direct TV (dish or Now) or Uverse TV?

I have AT&T unlimited with free HBO (Or at least thats what I signed up for). I signed up for DIRECTV NOW as per instructions on how to get HBO Go, My DIRECTV Now doesnt have HBO as it should and I cannot login to HBO Go.

To be clear, you have Direct TV now service, in other words, you use Direct TV Now for your non-HBO TV watching.

Have you logged into your DirectvNow account and add HBO under mange my plan?
The way it works is you are charge for HBO and then a credit will appear on your statement.

To clarify, 18 months ago the unlimited PLUS plan was eligible for free HBO. Do you have the PLUS plan or the regular Unlimited plan, with no tethering option.

I followed the instructions to a T that were posted on my AT&T wireless account with a link on how to set up. They did not call for manually adding it myself, I followed links and instructions and was trying to verify my number and it kept giving me error, thats when I first contacted AT&T. Please view screenshot below.
Also, with all do respect, if two CSR's couldn't help me, why are you wasting time throwing out guess to fix? To earn points? If I go with your guess and add HBO, when they charge me for it are you going to cut a check and mail it to me?

@MicCheck
@Rand14 Is correct, as a subscriber to DTVN the HBO channels would automatically be added. He would have to add it and get a credit if he were a Uverse or satellite customer.
@Rand14 I can’t see which plan you have, only your pop up that you have free HBO, so I assume the account is eligible. Have you contacted DTVN support? They should be able to verify if it can be added free. As usual, the solution article is a little light on specifics.
