account
We changed from Verizon to ATT on August 28 and were told in the Walmart store where we switched that we would have to go online and change from Personal Account to Business - which is what we wanted originally.
I have spent OVER 4 hours on the phone with ATT Customer support trying to get our account switched with no success. The first online rep I talked to (yes, I have over 4 pages of printed transcript of our conversation) assured me that the account is switched and we will get a $170 credit on our old account) . I am getting emails threatening suspension of our account and $35 fee to get our service back. I called last week and after another hour and half on the line, they said they had it all switched (AGAIN) and the credit taken and I would received a call back from them in 24 hours. I never received ANYTHING other than another email threatening suspension. HELP!!!!!!!! Oh, now I'm on the phone again and have talked to 3 agents and on hold AGAIN.

Those authorized retailers at Wal-Mart, Target, Sam's, etc., care about nothing more than closing the sale. They likely don't have the ability to create business accounts, so sold you what they could and kicked the can over to AT&T to actually help you.
File a BBB report. That will get you escalated to the Office of the President so you can talk with someone with the power and authority to get this straightened out.

I agree on with your Walmart statement; however, customer service with AT&T has been absolutely terrible. I am currently on the phone again and this rep tells me that the last reps didn't finish the job.

Hey @lbschmidt, we understand your question, so let's help you get the information you need.
We're sorry to hear that you've been getting the runaround in regard to switching from your personal account to a business account. We'd like to get you the assistance you need.
If you have a tax-id you can call in to have it transferred 1-800-331-0500. If you do not have a tax-id you can visit any ATT Store to transfer.
Thank you for posting on the Business Community. Does your business currently have an ATT Account? If so, they can call in to take over your personal line and move it under that ATT Account as long as there is an authorization note on your personal account that they are taking over the line.
Please feel free to reach back out if you have any further questions! Have a great day!

That is so funny, AT&T! Typical "run-around" I have been getting! I already given you my Tax ID# and the authorization has already been done.Maybe you should check the notes from all the agents I have talked to! Unless, they didn't take notes and complete the task?????

Hey @lbschmidt, we understand your question.
Sorry to correct you, but we need to verify your account over here to fetch your detailed information.
Note: You need to wait until you finish your 60 days with the personal line and then move to business line.
Since you are on a call with one of the AT&T representatives, we suggest you to complete the process and let us know is it solved or not? If not, we're here to help.
Please feel free to reach back out if you have any further questions! Have a great day!
Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.
