Account is in daughters name I’m mom and use one of the lines can I get removed from the account?

The ATT account apparently was put in my daughters name, there are 4 lines that are all currently being used. Can I be removed from the account as long as it’s paid in full and my phone is completely paid for? Do I need permission from the account holder to remove my line and is there a way to make sure my phone is paid in full without having to contact my daughter? I have s as lol the information for the account email, user, password and I even have the 4 digit PIN code. Thank you in advance for any help given.

To move your number from that account, you either need to port it to a different carrier or process a transfer of billing responsibility if you want to stay on ATT with your own account. In either case, you need the account owner’s permission. You need a transfer pin to port your number. You need the account owner to initiate a transfer of billing responsibility. If you have access to the account, you can initiate the transfer yourself or get a transfer pin. If you do a transfer of billing responsibility responsibility, it won’t matter if the phone is paid off or not, the phone payment will transfer with the line but you can verify whether the phone is paid off by logging into the account.

Let's point you in the right direction to remove a line from your daughter's account, sealevelzero.

Special thanks to our ACE, @sandblaster, for their great expertise.

You have a couple of helpful options to choose from.

Our first recommendation would be to use this resource to transfer billing responsibility. Please be aware of the following:

  • You can transfer one line or multiple lines on the same account.
  • You must pay off or transfer any device installment plans with the lines subject to a transfer request. Learn how to pay off an installment plan
  • You must pay off any accessory installment plans associated with wireless lines you want to transfer.
  • You'll lose any voicemails associated with your lines when the transfer is complete.

Our second recommendation would be to acquire a PIN to transfer the number.

Request your Number Transfer PIN close to the time you’ll submit the transfer request to the new provider. You can use a single Number Transfer PIN for all numbers that are on the same account. The Number Transfer PIN will expire four days after you request it. If you need a new one, you can ask for another by following the same steps.

From your AT&T mobile device

Call *PORT. Follow the prompts to get your Number Transfer PIN sent to you via text. You’ll need your account passcode to generate the Number Transfer Pin when calling *PORT.

With the myATT app

  1. Sign into the myAT&T app.
  2. Go to your profile and select People & Permissions.
  3. Scroll to Transfer phone number and select Request a new PIN. Your Number Transfer PIN will display on the screen.

Our third recommendation would be to view the current installment plan

We also recommend removing the line as well.
