unlock codes

Requested att unlock my phone. Was told that my phone was not uncontract and that it was paid for, I was also told that they couldn't unlock my phone due to my sims card. A case number was assigned and was told I would get an email in 24 hours. I received an email from att and was told my case was closed. But no unlock code received. I call customer service and was told that I would receive an unlock code and a new case number by email and text message within the next 10 to 15 minutes. I have not received either. I don't know if my phone was unlocked and I have no code. Is this standard practice?

Hi @YMASON,

Thank you for reaching out to us with this question. I’ll be more than happy to help you with this situation! I understand your unlock request was processed through an internal case. In order to take a look into the status, I’ll need to gather some account details. Hi Pammcferon! We are here to help you unlock your device!

We recommend making sure your device meets all the eligible requirements before you unlock your device. Scroll down to manage your device to submit an unlock request.

If you've already submitted an unlock request, let us know:

  1. What error message you are receiving, this will direct us to a resolution.
  2. If you are a former/current AT&T customer, as we need to verify your account to unlock your device internally or on our end.
  3. Was your device purchased through us or a third party/reseller like eBay/Amazon? You may need to contact the reseller to unlock your device. Learn more about non AT&T purchases on our forums page.

Lastly, please create your own post as this thread is subject to being closed at anytime, as it is an old thread.

We look forward to hearing from you! Thank you for visiting the AT&T Community Forums!
