S2 battery draining in 5 hours and overheating

I have had my gear s2 for 4 days.  In that time the battery drains from 100% to completely dead in less than 5 hours.  It also frequently gives an overheating message.  I got this watch to replace a fit bit, but am getting fed-up with it not working properly.  It seems ridiculous to me to have to charge something every 4 hours throughout the day.  It went from 100% at 630 this morning to dead before noon.  What can I do to make this usable?
