Numbersync failure

I cannot sync my watch.  I receive a code on the watch, login to the website, and the this error code:"Looks like its taking a little longer that expected to complete your request.  Give it a minute, then try refreshing your screen."  I refresh and get the exact same error.  I sign out and try the numbersync process again.  I receive the same error message over and over and over again.

I noticed there is a watch synced to my account and knowing for a fact there are no watches numbersynced to my phone, I press unsync this watch and receive the following error messages: "hmmmm.....  something isn't working.  We couldn't sync your device.  Please try again or call us at 800.331.0500.  (SVC_MSSI_BE_FAILURE)."  I also receive the same error message listed in the first paragraph.

I try clicking sync a watch again and receive the same message in the first paragraph.

I've done the following before trying the above steps:

-factory reset the watch twice and entered new QR code esims from ATT twice

-restarted the phone and the watch multiple times

-spent 3.25 hours with ATT "experts" and no solution (and they cheerfully hung up on my 3 times through the process when they were transferring me from clueless rep to clueless rep - I thought ATT was a phone company???  They don't know how to transfer a call internally??)

-uninstalled and reinstalled the Samsung Gear app multiple times

-watch and phone software are up to date

Have you created an access ID for your phone line?   If no, you must.

If yes, change the password.  Wait a few minutes 15 to 60, then try again.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, I already have an access ID setup for my phone and my watch. Both have been in use for months now. Number sync was working but the latest ATT update screwed it up and now I'm trying to fix the mess they created.

Arg!

Been there.

And yes the update and numbersync lousy program is to blame.

Change the password on your access ID, and then try setting up again.

Truly, numbersync is the lousiest program. AT&T should either fix it, or scrap it and start with something that actually works.

I wound up switching to Verizon who uses a similar program called number share , it works flawlessly.  There is no need to set up an access ID, set up is a snap.  My 'wearable' (actually a palm) has never disconnected, even if it's off for days, not during updates.

AT&T please fix numbersync for Android.

Seriously degrades the usefulness.  :(

Hey there I just bought the brand new Galaxy watch for me and my husband and we are having the exact same problems except for my phone is the one that number syncs automatically to the device no matter what if I go in and factory reset the device and also Remove my line from the number sync every time I try to set up the number sync through his watch it automatically connects to my phone. Did you find any solution for the issues you were having if so can you please share

Your husband needs to set up his own access ID for his line!

I tried to create his own ID. You can't do it anymore. I  Go on to the my ATT website and I put in his phone number with create new account and it says that the phone number is already linked to an account. From there it only gives me the options to try and access the account which I already have access to.

This statement makes me think you did not follow directions to create an access ID for an existing number:

"Go on to the my ATT website and I put in his phone number with create new account and it says that the phone number is already linked to an account."

Read first, then follow directions ⬇️

Create your ID

  1. Go to the myAT&T sign-in page and select Create one now.
  2. Enter your AT&T phone number or account number and your billing ZIP Code. You may also be prompted to enter a verification code.
  3. If there’s already a user ID for the account, choose from the options provided.
  4. Provide the requested info to verify your identity.
  5. Choose how you want to receive your verification code, if prompted.
  6. Enter the verification code we sent you.
  7. Create your user ID and password. Be sure your ID is an email address that starts with a letter.
  8. Decide if you want to save your ID and your password to your device, if prompted.
  9. Enter the contact info for your user ID.
  10. Set up your security questions and answers.
  11. Accept the AT&T User ID Terms & Conditions.
  12. Choose whether you want to sign up for paperless billing for your accounts, if prompted.
If you go paperless, we’ll email you a link. Select it to verify your email address.
  13. Select Finish Activation, if you’re creating an ID in the middle of a device activation process.

Heads up: We may ask you for a wireless number, so you can get sign-in help by text message.

After creating your ID

Password tips

  • Make your password strong and secure by following our AT&T password requirements.
  • Save your password on your phone if you want to use your fingerprint to sign in to the myAT&T app2 on a compatible wireless phone.

Primary or secondary online access

  • Your user ID gives you primary or secondary online access to 1 or more accounts.
  • Secondary online access is for someone whose name isn’t on the bill. They can co-manage the account online.
  • Your user ID may have primary access to some accounts and secondary access to others. Learn how to manage online access for your ID or accounts.

Wireless customers

  • Sync your phone with a compatible wearable using NumberSync for wearables.1
  • Make sure your wireless service is active before you add the account to your ID.

OK I went through And put his phone number in and went through secondary access on the account because that's the only option I see that I could do in this situation filled out all of his information and love his information and now he has his own account with the account phone being his number. I went into the watch and attempted to number sync and it States" the wireless phone number innered is already associated with another AT&T access ID" what do I do now.  Of course the phone number is associated with my original ID. But now it's says that the secondary ID is the problem.

So did you put your access ID on his line as well as on your line?   Each line has to have a separate access ID.

I didn't even think that was possible. But I don't know how to undo it now that you've done it. Call AT&T and ask for help.
