AT&T currently does not sell a kids watch with GPS and call features only.

Verizon has a exclusive deal with LG.

Apple watch will do the samething now.

At&t had a kids watch.  It didn't sell well, so they aren't going to put money into it again. 

The apple watch can work as a standalone as @GLIMMERMAN76  mentioned.  Just get a good bumper cover to protect it. 

I'm not buying multiple kids watches that cost hundreds of dollars and have too many features. I'm specifically looking for something that has GPS and call features ONLY.

Pay Verizon for watch lines.  10 a month for each watch line and 99 for the watch.  You can still control them from a att phone.

Yes, I second this! Verizon doesn't cover well in my area but we have many att towers. I need a solution for my kids!!
