Galaxy watch 4 classic and Galaxy S22 Ultra no longer compatible for Numbersync

I have been trying for a year now to get my numbersync back working despite being charged every month for the service. It has not worked despite trying everything AT&T has told me to do. I have spent 3 hours straight in an AT&T store with staff and tech service on the phone , I have spent literally hours trying to get a sync code, I have no less than 10 new esims, NOTHING WORKED! I called Samsung directly today just to double check and was told that this was an AT&T issue and to call them. Gee, call AT&T for the 40th time on the same issue which is pretty much a joke but called anyway. This time I got a clueless support person who only knew about Apple products but she found a new release which stated that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic and my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra phone are not compatible for AT&T Numbersync. Interesting in that AT&T continues to advertise for Numbersync but but can't provide the service. Last time I checked, it is illegal to charge for a service and not provide it. Good luck to anyone trying to get numbersync to work because most likely if it's not working now it will never work and AT&T will continue to charge you. Nest up on my complaint list will be the BBB, then the FCC and lastly the Attorney general for my state. I was shocked when support told me that my devices were not compatible now. Why in (Edited per community guidelines) did they not notify me of this??? AT&T, do you have an answer for this??? Tell me now before I start my complaint list!!

Yeah they (samsung) wish it was just AT&T's problem.

There are customers on Verizon, T-Mobile, and customers with Bluetooth watches, that all have the same complaint about the watch 4.

I don't know how long you've had it but I would insist that Samsung warranty replace the watch.

I got lucky I purchased a watch 4 and it works perfectly with my s22. I used Samsung's wear app, got a sync code, and I was up and running in no time at all. That's how it should be if the watch is not faulty.

This is an LTE watch, not bluetooth. The problem isn't limited to the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. People are complaining that their Galaxy Watch 5 pro and S22 ultra also do not work with Numbersync. My watch worked nicely for quite some time and at some point, numbersync failed like so many others and we have not been able to get it working again despite all efforts by AT&T. I spoke with Samsung support yesterday about the issue and they acknowledged that they were aware of the issue and said it was completely an AT&T issue. AT&T continues to advertise Numbersync even knowing that it doesn't always work. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and am awaiting  a response from AT&T.

I think you misunderstood my previous post. The problem is distinctly Samsung's, it is not limited to the watch 4.   It is not limited to LTE watches.  It's not limited to AT&T.

You can go to Reddit and see multiple complaints across different carriers. You could get on Verizon community and see multiple complaints from Verizon customers.

If you go over to Amazon, look up the samsung watch 4, 5 , and then scroll through the negative reviews, you will see multiple people report that their watch for will not work with their Samsung phone.

This dates back to Samsung's very early wearables, it's not new.

I will say that numbersync is the worst program, AT&T should have scrapped it and replaced it.   But if it was all about numbersync then none of the Samsung watches would work.  But most do just fine.

I had filled a complaint with the Better Business Bureau over the weekend about AT&T's advertising "Leave your phone at Home" program for Numbersync. I requested that AT&T stop advertising Numbersync due to the fact that it for many, just won't work. That was the resolution I asked for. I received a call from AT&T Exec Office this morning. A top corporate officer wanted to know why I posted a complaint with the BBB. I told him of my experience and mentioned the many postings of others unable to get numbersync to work. I told him that I expected AT&T to take down the advertising for numbersync because they are promoting a program that just doesn't work. I likened it to an auto manufacturer advertising a car that might or might not for many. I told him that after a year of trying to make it work, I was just told that my Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy watch 4 are no longer compatible for numbersync. I asked why people were not notified of this. Crickets. He had no argument at all for me. He could not justify AT&T's position. He said he was going to immediately contact tech support to look into this and that Corporate would be calling me back with some type of answer regarding this. I'll let you know AT&T's response when I hear back.
