eSIM for smartwatch QR Code

I signed up to add a watch line to my account, and recieved the confirmation email with the number.

The guide's steps from the AT&T site are:

1. Turn on your watch.
2. Open the wearable app on your phone and pair your watch.
3. Let the eSIM download automatically or follow the prompts to download it by scanning the QR code on your eSIM activation card from AT&T.
4. Activate NumberSync to sync your AT&T phone number and watch. You may need an AT&T user ID linked to the phone that you want to sync.

Step 3 doesn't happen automatically, and I have no QR code to scan.  I did it online not from a store.  How do I get my QR code?

You do not need a QR code card if esim downloaded.  (which it should)

What watch?  From AT&T or manufacturer?

ESIM is not downloaded. It is not happening.  The guide says to use QR if it isn't download.

Samsung S21. Samsung Galaxy watch5.  Watch purchased from manufacturer, did not want to pay the extra $50 that ATT was charging.

We understand the importance of helping you with downloading your eSIM for your Samsung devices, N2slC0aJrt.

Special thanks to our ACE, formerlyknownas, for their quick response.

Our first recommendation would be to use this resource to activate your eSIM

You’ll need a Wi-Fi connection on your phone and an eSIM activation card with a QR code from AT&T. To download your eSIM, open your camera app, point the camera at the QR code, and follow the prompts.

If you can’t scan the QR code with your camera, follow these steps:

1.  Open Settings.
2.  Select Connections.
3.  Select SIM card manager.
4.  Select Add mobile plan.
5.  Follow the prompts to scan the QR code on your eSIM activation card from AT&T.

If your Samsung smartphone still doesn’t have wireless service, activate your device.

Our second recommendation would be to troubleshoot your Galaxy watch 5.  There are some steps on resetting your smart watch and fixing some SIM issues.

Please let us know how this helps and we can continue offering your more support. Thanks again for reaching out to AT&T Communtity Forums!

I noticed someone stated that the eSim can only be picked up from the store or mailed and that is false. I've included the instructions that come after you set up your smartwatch plan.

  1. On your mobile device, launch the Galaxy Wearable app.

  2. 2

Tap Watch settings icon_arrow Mobile plans.

  3. 3

Read the on-screen instructions, tick Use code, and then tap NEXT on the Mobile service for your watch screen.

  4. 4

Scan the provided QR code when the QR code scanning screen appears.

    • When you scan the wrong QR code, an error code will appear on the screen. Scan the provided QR code again.
    • When you scan a previously used QR code, on-screen instructions will appear. In this case, contact your service provider.
