auto sync galaxy phone and watch after updates

Every time my Galaxy watch or Galaxy phone update I lose my watch sync with the phone and have to manually reset it. Why does it not go back to the setting before the update?

Hello Ray97, let's get you pointed in the right direction.

Please reach out to the manufacturer at 1-800-726-7864. They would be able to answer your question about system updates.

Let us know if this helps.

I have checked with Samsung and the two devices work correctly because the connect to each other by Bluetooth. Syncing has to do with ATT network and that does not seem to automatically reconnect after updates so I still have to manually sync them.  So this seems to be on ATT.

Thanks for your response, @Ray97.

At this time, we'd like to gather additional details from you:

  • Are you using AT&T Number sync to connect your devices? This information will better help us determine what troubleshooting steps we need to provide.
  • What's the exact make and model of your Galaxy phone/watch?

We look forward to helping and providing more helpful information.

I have a Samsung Galaxy watch 3 I do not see a model number on any of the paper work or box. The phone is a Galaxy S22. It does sync with the network but I have to manual go through the steps to get to sync. Thank you for any help you may be able to give me.

Thanks for your reply, @Ray97.

Please be advised, this may be a normal process to go through when updating your devices and having to reset your syncing features.

If you're still having concerns, you may try resetting your device to it's original factory settings to confirm if this will prevent the manual set up. To do so:

  • 1. If a restart does not resolve your concern, you may need to perform a Factory data reset (Master reset). This will erase all data on your device and restore it to factory settings. To Factory data reset your device, swipe down from the Notification bar then select the Settings icon > scroll to and select General management > select Reset > Factory data reset.

We hope this information helps and let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
