Activating pre-owned Gear S2 Classic

Aquired a pre-owned Gear S2 Classic and was looking to activate it. Can I do this online through my account or do I need to visit my local retailer?

Hey @canontek!

 

I can definitely get you the help you need on how to go about getting that new Samsung Gear S2 Classic working for you! I hear it is pretty awesome and you’ll certainly love it!

 

For the watch, it will require a Mobile Share for Wearables rate plan on the account if you are wanting to connect it through NumberSync and then you can sync the watch to the phone. Samsung Gear S2 Classic uses a SIM card that is not removable from the device. 

 

  • The SIM card cannot be removed and replaced with a different SIM card (AT&T or other carrier). 
  • The telephone number on the SIM is removed after 72 hours, which allows you to activate a new phone number on the device.

 

You can select to go to any AT&T Corporate store location or “bring your own device” online to add on the wearable.

 

You can also reference the AT&T Device Support tutorials on how to get started with the device.

Had some issues with this, but thanks to Erin B. & Drew (and maybe others behind the scenes), my Gear S2 is up & running on 4G. One would think this process would be a bit easier...maybe it will get better in the future!
