TV plays for 10 seconds and then freezes up.
When I turn on my Uverse/TV, the picture plays for about 10-20 seconds and then freezes up. It doesn't respond to any buttons pressed on the remote or the Uverse unit itself. I've tried resetting it, unplugging it, everything. It starts back up, but then freezes again.
The wireless unit in the other rooms works just fine.
Any suggestions? Thank you!

The one having problems has a coax cord into the wall, an HDMI into the TV, and a power cord into a surge strip.
The one in the bedroom that works just has the HDMI into the TV and the power cord into the wall. It also has a green "WiFi" display that is lit up, unlike the other one, so I just assumed it was wireless.

Yep, the one that works fine sounds like it's wireless. But I'm struggling with the one connected via coax.
Basically, what it sounds like the problem is that it is not getting the multicast stream that should be coming to it. When you change channels, you start a process that brings two different video streams to your receiver. One, which is normal IP unicast, starts nearly immediately and is what you watch initially. At the same time, negotiation to begin a multicast IP stream to the receiver is also begun, which takes at least a few seconds. When the receiver gets the multicast stream, it syncs up with where it is in the unicast stream then switches to the multicast stream. But if it never gets the multicast stream, then it freezes or goes black when the unicast stream quits after 10 or 20 seconds.
So, normallly what blocks the multicast stream is a third party router that gets installed between the Residential Gateway (RG, a/k/a "the modem") and your receiver. But... since you have a coax feed, that's unlikely.
No idea where that coax behind the wall plate goes to?

Hello,
I'm having the same problem. I'm not a tech, so I don't understand the terminologies. All I can say is that the U-verse guy had my wireless receiver working, but when I moved it, it stopped functioning properly, freezes after 5-10 sec, change channels, works then freezes again... I have a wireless receiver, I have a router, and the u-verse cable and DSL cables are plugged into a small box (extender the cable guy added) that the all the cables are plugged into, then a plug from that box to the router. Ugh, I'm so confused. I reset everything in the proper sequence, but still not working.
