At&t apparently elected to deactivate their online programming guide DVR/interface without prior notice.   The entire "uverse.com" site not points to at&t, so it's gone.    I also had the windows AT&T Uverse app installed on my system(s), and the app no longer works.   Only way is to have a smartphone and download their app, which is atrocious to use compared to the simple guide we have both been utilizing for a significant timeframe.

I finally taught my 75 year old mother, who ALSO does not have a smart phone, how to program via her laptop and she loved the interface and programming simplicity.  How typical, right?    There is no way that my mom would be able to adequately utilize a smartphone app -- an attempt would simply result in further frustration.

Hello andreas2017

As the content states, the website is no longer available on any PC or MAC. To stream any show using your U-verse subscription, you will need to utilize the U-verse app on one of the device in which it can be downloaded onto. If you wish to watch it on a bigger screen, it will need to be

Why does ATT think the only thing people did using uverse.com/uv/dvr was to watch TV.  I never used it to watch TV, but I did use it to search the guide and review the recorded and scheduled shows on my DVR.  Assuming everyone has a device to install an app on is not very realistic.  Please bring back the functionality to search the guide and view DVR content on a Windows PC.

Great answer.  What big brain at ATT decided to not support Windows?

@ATTCares you didn't finish the last part of your second reply.

Where can Uverse customers go online to see the TV listings without having to use a handheld device?

I didn't know they were going to get rid of the entire site. I thought they were just going to get rid of the live streaming and other streaming options on it. They could have left the listings and DVR settings pages alone.

I have been give totally conflicting information by multiple support reps today.   The last said that AT&T is working on a new 'online' interface that will go live in several days.   However, I am highly skeptical of this.    He said the new site would offer all the features of the old, yet could not answer why the old interface was discontinued prior to the new site going live.

I'm very seriously pondering joining the million+ other folks across the nation -in the last 3 months alone- that have cut the cord...

I share your skepticism.  Something is in the pipes, but I'm not sure what that is or whether it will have anything to do with a browser interface. I seriously doubt that it's anything less than 60 days away, and probably far more than that.

I believe there is something entirely amiss in the AT&T support world today.     Thus far: three (3) chat sessions -- all with conflicting information; four invalid email addresses -all bounced back- provided by support personnel; the half-an-answer provided above, to the "Uverse interface" question and a fb messenger stream that has been like communicating in Klingon to a Romulan antagonist.  Robot Mad

I'm done with support for the day, but resolve to spending free time further researching cutting the cord...

I have had multiple chats and support cases with ATT on the topic since I first saw the website banner warning in early October. Each call required me to inform the support reps about the change. Its obvious that there was no internal communications about the website being shut down nor not supporting any streaming on Windows going forward. No internal announce even today. After my chat session with ATT this afternoon I was called back and connected with their customer retention rep. When I educated her on the broader Windows scenario she was flabbergasted. She couldn't believe the decision.

These instructions are for Windows 10, but they can be modified slightly to make them work for Windows 7.

For Windows 10, the far superior Start Menu will be more appealing and works better in tablet mode.  This method is dependent on your Uverse subscription package (eg. U300), and any additional channel packages subscribed, and is similar to what you can do with iPhone for instance if you've chosen to download individual apps for all the stations you are subscribed to.  Apple has provided an aggregator function in their ecosystem for both the AppleTV and the iPhone.  No such aggregator function exists in Windows and what you'll get here is just a basic menu to pick from.  Still it can help simplify searching for your favorite channels.

Before starting this procedure, make sure Adobe Flash is enabled in Edge browser under Advanced Settings.

I am not advocating the use of Firefox or Chrome mostly to limit where you have Flash working and also because these browsers have either completely deprecated use of Flash or go out of their way to make it difficult to enable.  It is also recommended to install Silverlight add-on for Internet Explorer 11.  More on this later.

  1. Using Edge browser, navigate to a website such as www.tbs.com.  If you are on your home network, the website should authenticate you once ATT Uverse is specified as the service provider, otherwise you will need to enter your Uverse credentials.  Userid/Password same as what is used on iOS, Android or FireOS.  This works equally well for premium networks like HBO and Showtime.
  2. Once you've established the live stream is working, click on the three dots in the upper right corner, and select Pin this page to Start.  When doing this for the first time, it would be a good idea to setup a new category in the Start menu and name it something like Streaming Networks.  A tile icon will be placed in your Start Menu.
  3. Repeat the process for each channel you are interested in.

You will have created a crude pseudo TV tuner function when done.  Switching performance will be at the mercy of the browser and internet connection.  Please note that Netflix and Hulu are actual Microsoft Store apps, and the remaining icons were created using above procedure.

start menu uverse.png

There are certain streaming services such as BEIN Sports that rely on Microsoft Silverlight.  Silverlight only works in IE11.  It is still possible to create a tile icon from the the browser's internal functions located in the upper right corner.  Select Tools and Add Site to Apps.  There is one additional step to pin the app to the start menu but otherwise works just the same as Edge.  An added bonus to using the discrete website for something like BEIN is that this particular service offers 9 additional subchannels you wouldn't have access to through the Uverse app or website.
