So when can we expect a Windows 10 app for Uverse?

A fair question.  Unfortunately, I don't think they freed up their U-verse.COM resources in order to put them on a Windows team (would like to be wrong there, but...).  Microsoft just admitted that they're shutting down the Phone platform, which makes it even harder to get people interested in development for Windows.  DIRECTV and U-verse TV are supposed to be moving to a common platform.  I actually think this is why U-verse.COM is being shutdown; so that they can work on developing the combined DIRECTV/U-Verse solution.  Of course, it could be that U-verse TV becomes DIRECTV NOW (which would not make me a happy camper at all, unless they somehow keep the multicast architecture for AT&T Internet customers).

It seems at&t is giving up on the uverse now our new residential gateway bgw 210 just has the at&t logo on it not the uverse logo. Also the new interface just has the at&t logo on it. Also notice that the interactive selection has been reduced. Miss the weather radar they used to have for the interactive. part. Our fiber service itself with uverse is extremely reliable.  We have fiber to the house.  Had it a year almost now.

AT&T started phasing out the U-verse brand name some time ago (like about this time last year), starting with Internet and VOIP.  AT&T says that they also intend to phase out the DIRECTV brand name as well.  We'll see.

I agree it's mixed at best.  Most all the streaming apps that require ISP authentication still refer to us as ATT Uverse users.  This forum also still refers to Uverse btw, as does the app on my iPhone and the apps on my AFTV and tablet.  Oh, and of course there's always the venerable logo when booting up the settop boxes.

To me it's a don't care.

In general the IPTV technology works very well for me.  What doesn't work so well is streaming Uverse to devices other than settop boxes.  For instance within Windows which is what this thread originally started off about.  However sometimes having slight choppy streaming is better than having no streaming at all.

Thank you very much for explaining AT&T is yet again, failing as a "service" provider. This is a huge deal to me!!!! I use my laptop as an easily mobile tv. Here I was complaining that AT&T didn't offer all channels and all DVR programs. It didn't cross my mind that you could be so backwards as to offer NO channels and NO DVR programs. Going to each channel's online programming, if it exists, as if that is an equivalent option, is ridiculous. I am very, very, very disappointed to say the least.

AT&T, please know that many more people think the same. They just don't want to go to the trouble of signing up for the community ... community of losers that is. (I'm normally a very polite, positive person but this is just idiocy!!!)

My high-rise switched from another carrier to AT&T. I didn't pay attention at the time, but I definitely will be paying attention when the contract runs out. With the other service, you could watch every channel offered as well as all DVR programs. I might start a petition to break the AT&T contract. Let's pay up and get a service that actually offers basic amenities. Please reconsider AT&T. If I were a single payer, this alone would be enough to overlook AT&T as an option.

I was already considering changing back to Xfinity and this did it. I just re-installed the Uverse app on my FireTV the other day and the live TV channel list is VERY small compared to when you login via browser. I logged in with the same credentials and don't have access to the same channels- what kinda crap is that? All I wanted to do was to continue watching BeiN Sports. AT&T was lucky and held on to me because PS Vue dropped BieN Sports but this is a dumb decision if you won't even have everything available across the board.

They just set themselves up to lose even more customers

I use a MacBook Air to stream my u-verse content. None of the (dis-)service people I talked with in 3 different attempts could even locate this announcement. So, step 1 was convincing them it is there. When I told them the screen on my iphone is 2x3 inches - way too small to actually watch anything - they had nothing to say. A tech person said I could use a fire-wire to connect my phone to the computer, but it turns out that won't work. Sorry, AT&T I have an "old" iphone. Hey. It works. Lastly, they sent me an email with a link to ITunes saying there would be a downloadable app, even though I told them there wasn't one. And there isn't one. I'm so fed up with AT&T. Zero results in the attempts to communicate with someone about the. They refused to make a Case # or to start an "escalation." Instead, I got a low-level "manager," who was less than useful.

It will cost me $180 to get out of the rest of my cable subscription with this useless corporation. It will be money well spent. I'm open to suggestions of other cable providers (or cord-cutting ideas) from any other outraged readers.

I have had a couple of calls into customer service on this topic. I have been a customer of ATT Gigapower and uVerse for about 8 months.  Streaming on my home office PC was and is a requirement for me.  Either ATT provide a Windows app or continue to support browser streaming.  On November 1st I will be calling to cancel my service with ATT as uVerse is no longer acceptable to me.  The ATT support reps in the uVerse and Gigapower area were clueless to this change.  I probably spent more than two hours on the phone with them and wound up explaining their own announcement.  Get ready for a fight ATT!

BTW/  The new DirectTV solution does not have a Windows app either.

Can anyone explain why after today we will no longer be able to watch Uverse Tv on PC's? I work from home and I don't have room in my office for a tv so I have been using my personal computer to stream U-verse for a while now. When this leaves, it will take away a valuable service from me. My smartphone and tablet are too small for me to effectively watch tv while I work. Was there ever a reason provided for this change? I think it is a great disservice to customers.

Thanks,

It's looks like AT&T has done a dreaded "revamp" of their website as of 1 Nov 2017.

The online Uverse TV Guide has vanished from http://uverse.com/uv/guide

Where now can we find the UVerse TV Program Guide on the website?

Thanks
