I have poor eyesight.  It is easier for me to check the TV guide online and watch all my shows through the online Uverse website.  Now I have to go to each tv channel website in order to watch a show and there is no online guide to see what is on TV.  I would like to know why this change was made.  I am now a very unhappy customer and I am considering switching providers.

It looks like ATT is moving toward support of only mobile devices.  How far will they take this?  Will we eventually not be able to log in to myATT from a computer? Man Mad

As for looking at schedules there's plenty of websites that you can configure for the different cable carriers.   One I can recommend is TitanTV.com.  It's a bit of a pain to configure (setting up the desired channels) but once you do it remembers the configuration (need to register of course to do that -- its free).

Another similar pretty good site is Zap2It.  You can google for others.

This is ridiculous!!! Does ATT NOT care about losing customers????? So I hope they are willing to take some dollars off of my monthly bill!!

I would like to know where the guide went as well.    The guide was really helpful especially when I want to DVR one show because I'll be watching something else, or if I won't be home.   Yes, I know we could probably do that through the app, but the Guide is much easier to view on my computer rather than on my phone.

I contacted the horrible AT&T customer service about this problem back on October 1st (for the first time) when the message began appearing stating that the live stream would only be available on "devices" but NOT desktops.  I have a vision problem and cannot see a cell phone screen.  After speaking to over seven different customer services agents I was assured by one who said his name was Byron that we would be receiving an email BEFORE November 1st telling us a NEW web address that would allow us to view the channel/program line-up and ultimately be able to stream live channels.

I never received any email - did anyone else?

I contacted AT&T  early this morning and when the agent could not answer my questions they ended the chat by shutting off or rebooting my services (cable, internet, phone) TWICE in less than 60 minutes.

Reasons for the change were never stated, but I agree a takeaway is never going to be well received.

There are alternatives fortunately in Windows.  I'm in the process of setting it up now.  I'll update again shortly with some specifics.

I know there are other TV listing sites out there. I liked the Uverse site because in addition to being blue it wasn't filled with ads and auto start videos like TVGuide's site.

I also liked to be able to click on the TV listings to record something, not record an episode of something I had scheduled, delete stuff off the DVR and etc. without having to do it through the TV all the time. The TV in my bedroom isn't really near enough to be reading lettering on TV to all that. DirecTV still has listings on their page and other TV providers still have theirs even if they are provided by one of the two sites I'm linking to below.

I too am angry that Uverse.com is NO longer available. If it is NOT corrected soon, I WILL BE CANCELLING MY AT&T service and go with your competitor. They have offered a very attractive package, but I always rejected it because I do not like to change things.  But I sign up for Uverse because I could watch (keep up to date) news. Since that ability is no longer an offering by AT&T, then I have no reason to remain an AT&T customer.  AT&T we will see how bad/much you want your customers.

Sure.  What I'll describe applies to Windows 10, but with some adjustments can also work in Windows 7.

The basis of this is tied to your Uverse TV service and entitlements.  That is to say the package you're subscribed to (eg. U300) and any add on channels being paid for.  And finally on the content provider having a streaming capability.

uverse.com provided a number of functions such as programming (but not watching) the DVR and featured content, but here we're just talking about streaming content.  What the windows website gave here is an aggregated view of live channels, a tuner function if you wish, that one could navigate with relative ease.  I'm not aware of any limits on the number of simultaneous streams supported such as is the case with DirecTVNow.

In this example, I'll use TBS because it is likely a channel everyone has, but also applies to premium channels like HBO.

  1. Use the Edge browser as it has support for Adobe Flash.  Make sure Flash hasn't been disabled in advanced settings.  You may be prompted to allow Flash access and you will need to respond yes.
  2. Navigate to www.tbs.com .  When attempting to watch live stream, you will be asked to authenticate with your service provider.  Select Uverse (or ATT TV) and you should get right in if on your home network.  If not, you'll need to use your Uverse credentials.
  3. Go to the top right corner of the browser window and click the 3 dots.  Select Pin to Start.  A tile button will now be available in your start menu.
  4. Repeat this for as many channels as you're interested in.  This will in essence mimic a tuner function within the Start menu.

There is one significant caveat to this method and occurs when a content streaming provider uses Microsoft Silverlight.  Edge does not support Silverlight so channels such as BEIN Sports Connect cannot be setup using this method.  Instead IE11 should be substituted.

Some advantages do exist via this method.  Using the BEIN Sports Connect service as an example, there are an additional 9 sub-channels available that wouldn't be accessible using Uverse directly.  WatchESPN is another good example.

Why do I get redirected to https://www.att.com/tv/watch-uverse-app.html when I enter http://uverse.com/uv/guide?  I use it to schedule shows and view what is recorded and scheduled on my DVR.  Trying to search for shows, on the TV isn't a realistic choice, since I can't use a keyboard. and I don't have access to a device I can install the app on.
