Why are we no longer getting movies on DVD on DEMAND?

Why are we no longer getting block buster movies being released to DVD on DEMAND?  Examples:  Thor, Star Wars, Black Panther just to name a few.

Hello @JJForges,

Welcome to the Community Forums! I definitely understand your concern, and I would be more than happy to address it for you.

It’s up to the film distributors to allow us and other companies to show their films. If you see the films available on DTV, it will be released a little later on U-verse. If it’s not available on either, then we haven’t been provided the rights to show it. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns! I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day!

So the question then becomes, why do we pay so much money for you not to have most of the top movies out? Sounds like a pretty bad deal or some people didnt like the way you handle business.

Wish I had that option!  But, the more B movies they are offering as JUST IN the more disappointed I am.    Whole point was being able to rent movies from home and not have to go the RedBox route. Believe the universe is telling me to ditch the whole cable thing and convert to streaming devices and Netflix for the best movies.

That's a shame.  As much as I pay for my cable service and to get offered "B" grade movies to "rent" at higher fee than Netflix is really not good business.

I do not use Uverse on Demand.  I rent my on demand through Amazon and Vudu.  However I did some checking around with both Comcast and Spectrum and they have the above movies on demand.  So for customer care to say they are not offered these top movies is incorrect and I do not believe them.  If Comcast and Spectrum were offered the movies then Uverse was offered them.  You can not make them offer us quality service and you have to work around them until your contract is up and you can move on to another provider.  That is why I suggest Amazon or Vudu.  I have gotten good service from both.

Disney has a deal with Netflix.  Coco, Thor, Black Panther, Star Wars are currently or will all be available on Netflix.

Apparently it's not an 'exclusive' deal if Spectrum also has those movies available and ATT doesn't.
