Not able to log into Showtime Anytime app via ATT Uverse


When trying to login into the Showtime Anytime app via ATT UVerse, the process goes as far as having my Uverse login id and trying to connect to Uverse. An AT&T page then shows within the Showtime Anytime app login screen and reads "We're Sorry. We cannot process your request at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience."  Can you advise what may be the problem and how to solve it? 

(Note: As part of the troubleshooting process, the showtime anytime app was updated, removed and reloaded, and iPhone rebooted. Still the problem persists.)
