Local Weather

Had my receiver box changed out recently.  Since then, while watching The Weather Channel, when the "local update" appears on the screen it is showing the weather for Houston, Tx.  I live in Atlanta, Ga.  Before the box was changed it would show my local weather.  Is there a way to get my local weather updates instead of Texas updates?

Hi @acpritchard, I can help you with your Weather Channel settings.

You can manage your local weather setting on your U-Verse service by following the steps below:

  • Press the Go Interactive button on your remote.
  • Go to Weather/Services then to The Weather Channel.
  • Side bar should appear.  Go to settings to Manage Locations.

This should fix the problem.

I deleted the existing locations, except for one.  I tried to add my location but it is not showing up in the location listing.  It says that I need to move my location to the top of the list, but it is not showing up for me to move it.

We would be happy to help you with your Weather Channel issue @acpritchard !

Since you mentioned the issue began after a replacement, here is some info to Set up enabled apps for U-verse TV:

  1. Run the Set-up Wizard on Ch. 9301 on each U-verse TV receiver you want to connect
  2. This will set up your receivers so that they can work with the U-verse app and other apps
  3. Be sure to enable all TV receivers that you plan to use.

Once you have confirmed the setup is complete, here are the steps you can follow to access the weather feature:

  • Tune to The Weather Channel on Ch. 225/1225 HD
  • You can also access the channel by pressing Interactive on your remote control followed by Weather/Services > The Weather Channel.

Lastly, you can try a non-disaster recovery reset, this will not delete your recordings, but it will refresh the DVR and could help resolve this issue. Refer to step 3 in this How to Troubleshoot your DVR/Receiver information.

Please let us know if this helps you resolve the issue!
