Although I've had U-Verse for some time now, I've just recently realized I could watch TV via the internet and android phone. But how do I do this??

Many providers are coming up on this method.
U-verse provides live & on-demand selections at uverse.com accessed via a browser on a computer. Access via an android device requires an app.
The same browser or app access can be applied for HULu, Netflix, Amazon prime, as well as specific channels.
See what web sites & you can access by googling your shows or channels,

To answer your question, on your Android device, go to the Play Store. Look up UVerse, and you should see a number of applications -- remote control, etc., but there is one called U-Verse. Once you log in with your U-Verse credentials, you'll be able to set your DVR, look at the guide, and even watch live TV.
To see on your computer, go to www.uverse.com
Hope that helps -- enjoy!

In addition, ESPN and Disney both have apps via your phone or tablet download location. Channels only come in on the app if you subscribe to them on your TV. Starz, Encore, Cinemax and HBO all have apps. I think Showtime has one as well...once again, those only "work" if you subscribe via TV.
Slingbox is a device which can be purchased separately (not from AT&T). Likewise, they can't help you with tech support on it...but it can "sling" or "send" your TV signal to any internet-connected device which is great if you're on the road. Normal blackouts, etc still apply, just as if you were sitting on your couch. No monthly fee and quite easy to set up. I have one and I highly recommend you put it on a secondary TV as you cannot watch a different TV channel on your slingbox-connected TV as your slingbox-connected device. With it, you also have full DVR controls, just the same once again, as if you were sitting on your couch.

Many but not all channels can be watched using the free Uverse app. If you want to watch all live channels and recordings on your DVR you can also buy a Slingbox device for $75 to $125.

I was hoping I could watch all channels. I am familiar with Slingbox as my son-in-law use it (they live overseas).
Thanks again for the help.

Part of the issue is that the content owners (Scripps, Disney, Viacom, etc) have to create an app, then U-Verse has to agree to carry the app (aka pay money.) When the channel is up for negiotiations, the issue of the app comes up. If they don't agree to carry the app, then the channel gets yanked.
And during these negotiations, they decide if it is something that be streamed only in-house or via 4G.
