Have you gone here and made sure both digital and standard are off: menu>options>audio/language options>closed captioning.  If not make sure you Save the setting after turning it off.

If that's all done and still have captions, I'd do a hard reboot by unplug/plug in power after 30 seconds.  This will fix many DVR problems, let us know if it worked, good luck. Smiley Wink

Hello diva2cute , that is an excellent suggestion posted by mibrnsurg . I have sent you a private message to assist you further in case you are still having trouble with your closed captioning and not being able to disable it. This will allow us to discuss specific equipment and account details.Smiley Happy

If there was a reboot, CC would be turned on.  Now can now just toggle it on/off w/red C button, think that's how yours got turned on. 😉

After trying to use the remote for the tv and turning off all CC settings I could find, CC was still on the screen. Solution: Using your cable remote (not tv remote) hit info button. Under the program information is a box that says "Turn CC off", scroll to that box and select "Ok". Problem solved.😁

Press the red "C" button on the remote to access CC.

I've reached that age where my brain went from "You probably shouldn't say that"

...to...

"What the heck, let's see what happens."
