Gear icon on screen

The gear icon is on my screen. It has been there for several hours. What do I need to do. I have 2 other TV connected to U-verse and they work fine

Hi @Dhammer, we're happy to help with your receiver.

 

Usually, the gear appears after the receiver has gone through an update or recovery. It should normally go away after several minutes. Let's try a few things to get it working properly again for you.

  • Try resetting your U-verse receiver by holding the power button down for 10 seconds then pressing it again. The reset process takes about 5-8 minutes. 
  • If the problem persists, Restart your AT&T Gateway(Router/modem). 

If you are still having trouble, please let us know what model of receiver you have and we'll be happy to check any further options.

Thank you for your response. I was able to connect with the tech support for ATT. It was determined that there was a problem with the receiver and a new one is being sent. I had a great experience with the support gentleman.
