ATT vs Comcast
We live near Houston and have had Comcast for several years. Last summer we had to move into temporary housing and we decided to give AT&T a try. We've had AT&T for nine months now and we haven't been very happy with it (not that we liked Comcast much, either.) In a couple of weeks, we are moving again, and we need to decide whether to keep AT&T or go back to Comcast.
AT&T's channel line up seems to be almost entirely made up of infomercials. I don't like paying this amount of money for so many channels that are nothing but people trying to sell me something. It's all just garbage. And the HBO package is quite expensive. We only wanted HBO but we were forced to take other channels we didn't want. Another small problem was the onscreen guide, which is in print too small for us to read easily. But that wouldn't be a deal-breaker if the channel line up was any good.
I think we had a smaller line up package with Comcast (mainly because when we first signed up with them, we had fewer financial resources.) But I don't remember so many infomercials on Comcast. AT&T seems to be primarily infomercials and Pay Per View channels, none of which I want. We are seriously considering going back to Comcast.
I just want to make sure I can't get a better deal with AT&T. I find their different packages confusing to sort out (I admit it. I'm not that smart and definitely not tech smart.)
Is direct TV a better option for people who don't watch a lot of TV? There are really only a handful of channels we watch regularly, but we're paying a fortune for plenty of channels we never watch.
With Direct, can you choose your own channel line up? I haven't really looked into it, but I will this week. That might be the only thing that keeps me from going back to Comcast.
I have to have a package that includes Turner Classic Movies, which--annoyingly--is never included in a basic cable package.
Any advice is sincerely and greatly appreciated. Thanks.
