A single channel has recently started skipping, multiple interruptions, etc.

I recorded several shows from a channel. When I tried to watch them backspace, fast forward, and fast back took me to the screen asking me if I wanted to start over, erase, etc.

thought I had a recording problem, but I just tried to watch the channel live and I get the same problems.
but it is a single channel, everything else I’ve looked at works fine.

the texas rangers win three games in a row and now I’ve missed them.

I should add that the show constantly skips a second or two every minute or two and eventually goes to the start over screen on its own

Glad to help fix the issues you're having with Bally Sports, Chrisconnor.

We recommend rebooting your DVR. Just press and hold the power button (located on the left side of the receiver) for 10 seconds.

We also recommend reaching out to the support team for Bally Sports to determine if there's a known issue with their channel.

If you need help with anything else, let us know. Thanks for visiting the AT&T Community Forums.

While rebooting the DVR isn't a bad idea if you haven't done it lately...  if it's only affecting one channel, that sounds like an issue with that channel feed.  Do you have more than one TV receiver?  Does it happen when watching live on the non-DVR receiver?

JefferMC,

thank you very much.

I sent them an email with a copy of what I wrote here.

I am giving odds of 99 to 1 that they claim that it must be a U-verse problem.

and I would agree with them. I have been a U-verse customer for six years and I’ve noticed that service has gone downhill in the last year.

Don’t get me started on problems with recording series and the program guide.

Normally a 1 channel issue is with the channel provider.  Sometimes it's with the AT&T equipment in the VHO or NVHO, but it's not in your home.  And Bally has some issues...

JefferMC,

I appreciate the feedback.

I had assumed that if it’s a U-verse problem, it would probably be where they take the feed and convert it to match whatever format standard that U-verse uses both for the data and control sequences.

i margine that most of the households in Dallas get Bally and would be screaming bloody (Edited per community guidelines) if they couldn’t watch their rangers win the American League west division for the first time in ages. The number that also have U-verse as a provider is probably much, much smaller.

And if it is a Bally problem, I really need AT&T to carry the ball, ‘cause I have zero clout with Bally.

bally’s webpage promised 24 hour turnaround. I’ll just wait and see what they have to say.

thanks for the info and advice.

JefferMC,

bally never did get back to me. But the problem went away and now I get the Bally southwest channel with no problems.

so it looks like you were right.
