No longer have access to hbo max access on grandfathered plan
I have the unlimited plus plan which still states that I should have access to HBOMax. I had directv as well the my logins were the same so I never knew which one I was using. I called support and was advised to call HBOMax support, the unlinked the login from my old directv account and said I should be able to set it up with ATT now. When I try it says to call my provider, they told me that it's no longer offered as of June 6th. Everything else I find says the grandfathered plans still have access, one forum post had a response from ATT a month ago saying the plan should still have access.. suggestions?

We're here to assist you with signing in to HBO Max @Thesmosh.
You still have access to HBO Max since you're on an eligible retired plan. So that I can give you the assistance you need to access HBO Max can you answer a few questions for me.
We're waiting on your response so that we can get you back to streaming HBO Max.

I am, my credentials for signing into my att account and my directv account were the same. I spoke with HBOmax support and they unlinked my directv account to my email address. When I signed try to sign in with my att information I get the can't verify subscription error. It says to contact my provider.

It sounds like you have the Unlimited Plus plan, which should still provide access to HBO Max. You mentioned that you previously had DirecTV and your logins were the same, but after contacting support, your login was unlinked from your old DirecTV account.
When you attempted to set up your HBO Max account with AT&T, you received a message prompting you to call your provider. However, you were then informed by AT&T that access to HBO Max is no longer offered as of June 6th, which contradicts information you have found online indicating that grandfathered plans still have access.
Based on the information you have provided, it seems like there may be some confusion regarding your plan and whether or not it still provides access to HBO Max. I would suggest reaching out to AT&T support once again and providing them with specific details about your plan and the conflicting information you have found. They may be able to clarify the situation and provide a solution for you.

They called me and we discovered that since it was originally tethered to my Directv account, and not to my cell phone account, and since it is no longer offered, I do not have access anymore.
I would have had to register the HBO Max service to my cell phone account prior to last June I guess... because that's when they stopped offering it to new customers...
Not sure how I could have done that as my directv and att accounts had the same credentials, but unless someone else know something AT&T says I am just out of luck.
My plan has both gotten more expensive in the last year and my plan perks are going away....

I am getting messages to go in and accept the answer I have been given from att.
That answer was even tho it's included in your plan, you didn't sign up for it in their undocumented time frame, (which was because at the time had the service twice so I didn't need it), I am out of luck.
That answer is not acceptable.

It seems like you've done everything you could, and it's frustrating to receive conflicting information from different sources. My suggestion would be to try contacting AT&T again and explain the situation, including the conflicting information you've received. If they still claim that the plan no longer includes access to HBOMax, you could also consider looking into other streaming services that may offer similar content.
