I can buy a Chromecast for the Samsung tv I have.
But will Chromecast override the Roku built into my TCL tv?
There is no option on the HBO Max app on my Samsung 9S+ to cast to anything.
Thanks.

You change the HDMI input on the TV (using the TV remote) from the Roku input to the input that you plug the Chromecast into.

The real answer is that I have Roku (built in) on 1 tv (living room) and Roku Ultra attached to my other TV.
So, I installed Chromecast and cast from my Samsung Galaxy 9S+ to my tv in my bedroom. Works well. I just have to change the Source from HDMI 1 to HDMI 2. Easy peasy.
I haven't bought a second Chomecast for the living room tv because I'm holding out for Roku and HBO Max to finally get a contract so I can download it to my Roku tv.
If someone had told me I had to go through all this just to watch HBO Max via AT&T "deal," I would have said no thanks.
