Weird/Poor sound quality since last week.

I use HBOMax through my Xbox One X, connected to a 5.1 channel home theater system via toslink (optical). Since around 3/12-3/13 there is no sound/dialogue come through my center channel when I use the app. Rather the dialogue is pushed out through the left and right front channels and is muddy sounding. Sounds like Pro-Logic audio. Netflix and Amazon Prime sound just fine. Was there an update that broke the sound?

We'd like to look into why you're experiencing poor sound quality while streaming HBOMax.

 

With a few details, we can assist you to best of our ability: 

  • Are you streaming HBOMax from your T.V.?
  • Also, did you check if all wires aligned properly?

Thanks for your response. I am streaming HBOMax from my XboxOne X. I get proper audio from my other subscriptions such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. Really love HBOMax though.
