My plan includes HBO Max but when subscribing, I am still asked to choose $9.99 or $14.99

I am on AT&T Unlimited Elite (SM) which includes HBO Max. However when trying to activate it, I am still being prompted to select a package of $9.99 or $14.99 and if I continue, I am being asked for my credit card. Doesn't AT&T already cover the payment and so my credit card should not be needed?

Please make sure to activate your HBO Max first before signing in. Sign in to Myatt app or online and look for the HBO Max info on your Account page, and follow the prompts to start streaming.

my account overview does not show get started with hbo max. It shows get hbo max and asks me to pay money

Hello @! Let's further look into it your HBO Max sign in concern!

 

To better assist you please let us know if you purchased AT&T Unlimited Elite on/after 5/27/2020 or before. Also, if you are a new Elite wireless customer or existing wireless upgrade to elite. 

 

We recommend using the HBO Max app, go to Profile Icon > Sign in > Sign in through tv or mobile Provider > Don't Allow ( Allow HBO Max to use your TV provider subscription? pop up) > select AT&T  > Sign in with AT&T credentials.

I am a new customer to AT&T and purchased AT&T Unlimited Elite(SM) on 6/20/2021 which is after 5/27/2020. I am a new Elite wireless customer.

When using the HBO Max app, I do not get the Allow HBO Max to use your TV provider subscription? pop up.  If I continue to sign in now it is saying that if my log in fails too many times, I may need to reset the password.

Good Evening @ We can continue to look into why you're not able to get signed into HBO max.

 

  • Did you activate HBO Max before signing in to HBO Max the first time?
  • Do you have other AT&T user IDs?
  • Are you receiving any type of error message when trying to sign in?

 

Also, try going to the HBO max Help Center for more troubleshooting solutions.

The main problem is that AT&T is not showing me a link to activate HBO max nor is it showing me a link to Get Started with HBO max. It only shows me a link to get HBO max but it is asking for my credit card number and telling me to select a $9.99 or $14.99 plan. I will go into the AT&T store where I bought my phone and wireless plan and hopefully they could tell my why my AT&T account does not give me the option to activate HBO max even though I have AT&T Unlimited Elite.

My HBOmax sign in is fixed now. I went to my local AT&T store where I bought my phone and plan. They noticed that my account was not updating properly so they removed me from the plan temporarily and then re-enrolled me. That seems to have fixed everything. When I signed back in, I was then able to see the get started option for HBOmax.
