HBO Max must be a scam

I was supposed to be getting HBO Max with my Unlimited and More package, and while it worked for a month or so, I haven’t been able to log in for weeks now.  Scratch that — the apps say I’m logged in but I can’t access any content. I’ve spent hours on the phone trying to get this taken care of and apparently it’s far beyond ATT’s tech support hacks. This is such (Edited per community guidelines) and I am betting I’m not the only one this is happening to.

ATT you are the devil.

HBO was included with Unlimited & More Premium, not Unlimited & More. I’ve got Unlimited & More Premium, no problems accessing HBO Max. You probably just signed up for the free trial.

A) Considering it was an agent that signed me up as a substitute for the old hbo streaming package, if you’re right, that’s on ATT.

B) That there are two different versions of this plan, and apparently even those are old and not offered actively anymore, is completely ludicrous.

C) ATT is the devil.

They are or were two different plans, they just happen to be named nearly the same. Call it what you want but carriers offer multiple plans and change them all the time. ATT actually has something like 8 or 9 different versions of old unlimited plans that customers still have and they have 3 different unlimited plans currently. The only current plan that includes HBO Max is unlimited elite.

Hi @kevinpnb,

Thank you for reaching out. We understand how frustrating this must be for you and would like to look into your inquiry about HBO Max.

We agree with @sandblaster that between the two plans, only Unlimited &More Premium has the option for HBO Max. Other Unlimited plans with HBO Max are:

  • Unlimited Elite (currently available)
  • Unlimited Choice
  • Unlimited Choice II
  • Unlimited Choice Enhanced
  • Unlimited Plus
  • Unlimited Plus Enhanced

You may need to change your plan to the currently available plan in order to take advantage of the HBO Max feature.

We hope this helps and please reach back if you need further assistance.

What is frustrating and really unacceptable is that no one, in hours of chatting and talking, has said that to me. No one. AND they signed me up for something I’m supposedly not eligible for. Where’s the accountability for that?!

  • Unlimited Elite
  • Unlimited Choice
  • Unlimited Choice II
  • Unlimited Choice Enhanced
  • Unlimited Plus
  • Unlimited Plus Enhanced

If you require additional assistance with your streaming service reach back out to us, and we will be sure to assist you.

THIS WHOLE THING BETWEEN ATT AND HBO Max IS A HUGE SCAM!!!

I was “given free” HBO Max by ATT because I purchased a new iPhone. I didn’t even know about the offer, but they gave it to me… Great, right?  Well, I used it for a week in my iPad, and when I tried to use it in my “second” new iPhone I purchased from ATT, I could not get in. I tried to reset the password by using the access codes they text you in these cases, but they didn’t work. I tried to resolve the problem by contacting the same ATT store that gave me the HBO Max. Well, that went nowhere after going in circles to try to speak to a live person; that never happened. So, I decided to call HBO Max directly, and after 8 minutes of getting my account’s name and email address… (yes… that took 8 minutes!), THEY REFERRED ME BACK TO ATT!!!  Well, after all that, I decided that I was just not going to be able to access HBO Max on my iPhone. Then I grabbed my iPad and opened HBO max…. I’ll give you one guess… That’s right!  I could not get into it; I needed to SIGN IN!!!!  Not only was I not able to access HBO Max on my phone, but now I can’t access it on my iPad!!!    Aghhhhhhhhhh!!!   NOTHING IS EVER FREE!!!  SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!!!
