Why are we losing so many great channels?

Why can't we keep A&E, HISTORY, LIFETIME and more?

No. DirectvNow is losing the History channel, not Directv: https://www.multichannel.com/news/directv-now-dumps-viacom-and-other-channels

Watching Live PD last night, they mentioned that AT&T may no longer provide A&E channel to DirecTV subscribers.  Will that also affect DirecTV Now subscribers?   We watch A&E and the History channel often!  Please don't take away the only channels that we really watch!

Same thing here and I just renewed my contact and upgraded my equipment. If I lose A&E networks I’ll be canceling my contract no matter what it cost . If been a loyal costumer since they bought out PrimeStar.

NFL already gone. A&E, History....maybe next. 75% of U-Verse is garbage filler. If we lose ONE MORE channel, we will cancel ALL ATT SERVICES. Phone, TV AND internet

Khloe, we hear you and we’re disappointed to see A&E put you in the middle of their negotiations. We’ll continue to fight for the best deal for you.

Keep A&E or I’m leaving AT&T/DiretTV

Is it true A&E is being removed from DirectTV? If so, why? This is a channel I watch every day. If this channel is taken of the lineup, then I will cancel my account and move to Dish network. If you are going to remove a channel, take off the Scientology's channel. I do not want to pay for this network as part of my package. It should be optional. A&E leaves, then I will cancel my subscription.

A&E is always on one of my TVs.  Pull A&E, dish or the local cable company will be getting my monthly payments!!  Bad enough losing channels everytime it gets cloudy. Losing channels and paying the same price isn't happening here!!  There already to many sports and infomercial channels taking up space. Spending $80 a month to watch George foreman grill and other junk channels isnt going to keep customers.  SAVE A&E

It's a contract dispute, my guess it will get resolved. Moving to Dish probably won't help, they are probably next in line. And if you cancel DirecTV and are still under contract, you will owe a cancellation fee.

When I initially switched from XFINITY to DirectTV I specifically picked the package of channels I chose to include A&E and History channels, If these channels are removed from my line up I will be IMMEDIATELY CANCELLING Direct TV and all my other AT&T products and switching to XFINITY.

I understand that negotiations must be economically viable for all parties involved however it is very simple, if another company has a product I want and you do not I will give that company my business.

And what provider will you switch to when the same thing happens to Dish or your local cable company?
