Help!!! I’m not techie at all. My TV keeps going in and out and displaying the error message “Your tv does not support this programs content protection. Replacing the TV's HDMI cable with component cables will allow you to view the program” I literally have no idea what that means. I see similar issues and did make sure the TV is up to date on its firmware. But the second suggestion mentioned changing cables and I don’t know how to do that. Anyone?

Hey, @MAA9706. We'd be glad to help with this HDMI error.


Have you tried any troubleshooting steps so far? If not, we'd recommend trying these steps:

  • Connect the HDMI Cable to different HDMI inputs on the TV. After doing this you will need to change the input on the TV to match the new location.

  • If all HDMI inputs on the TV show the same message, try a different HDMI cable.

  • If the error message still hasn't gone away after that, try Restarting your Receiver.
