Signal strength issues

I just had a new HR54 with a wired mini Genie installed and kept 3 HD-DVR’s several days ago.  While having my new Genie activated, I required a Waiver because the signal was poor.  The technician thought it was a combination of cloudy weather and some overlying tree branches.  The devices were installed without further issue once the waiver was performed.  Since then, I was able to trim the branches, and it continues to be overcast.  I rechecked the signal meters.  My signal strength has some lower numbers, but I don’t have a 771 error typically.  I do when it rains, like yesterday.  I am attaching my tables of readings in a format I found posted elsewhere.  Do I need to call DirecTV again to see about these numbers?  I noticed some low numbers in 101 and 99(s).  I guess the zeroes don’t necessary mean anything bad.  Do my numbers suggest an alignment issue or anything else worrisome?  Thanks for any help.

No, those are very good. About the same as mine in fact. Where you have low (or even zero) signals its because those transponders are carrying "spot beams" delivering locals to other cities. For example, 99s and 103s don't carry anything but locals, and 103ca TPs 1-8 are temporarily "switched off" while Directv moves its satellites into different locations for the switch off of SD channels.

Oh good. Thank you for your reply. I was worried because of the need for the waiver. And these numbers seemed similar before and after I cut the branches. Thanks again.

I have a question regarding the 99 satellite. I noticed that I’ve got zero single levels on all of the transponders. I’m curious to know how I’m getting my local channels? It appears to be in SD. Are local channels being transmitted on some other bird in standard definition?

The 101 is SD but unless you have the SD channels un-hidden you don't get them in the guide. Your LNB or the wiring needs to be checked.
