Remote for DTV and fire tv

Is it possible to use only the DTV remote to control DTV and a Toshiba fire TV? I purchased a new TV for my elderly mother and using 1 remote to change DTV channels and the other for volume will confuse her.

Yes you can easily do that by just reprogramming DirecTV remote to your new Toshiba fire TV by using the following code: 54002

I can you need to reset the remote:

First off, Press ‘Menu’

Select ‘Settings and Help’

Next click on ‘Settings’, then ‘Remote Control’

Then make sure ‘Reset Remote’ is highlighted.
