No Sound

Yesterday, my tv sounded all garbled, like static and underwater.  Today, my tv has no sound.  What is going on?  Tv is less than a year old.  TCL model.

Does the TV sound like this on all channels? Are you able to use an antenna to pick up a local channel, bypassing the DTV box?... if so, how's the sound?

We would be happy to help you resolve your sound issue @riestar!

There are a few things that could be causing this issue. Here are the things we suggest checking on:

The Receiver

  1. Reset the receiver with the red button on the box or by unplugging the AT&T Directv receiver for 15 seconds and plugging it back in to power.
  2. Disconnect/Reconnect the video/audio cable from the AT&T Directv Receiver and plugging it back in. This cable is normally around the center of the back of the receiver.

The TV

  1. Also try to unplug the TV from power from about 15 seconds and then plug it back it.
  2. Also remove the video/audio cable from the back of the TV and plug it
  3. If that continues to not work, try a different place to plug in the video/audio cable to TV and correct input to the new on you have it plugged in at.

The Video/Audio Cable

  1. Replace the Video/Audio cable to rule out and issue with the video/audio cable itself.

If these steps do not resolve, we may have a bigger issue that would require a possible replacement.

Please let us know if the resolves the issue!
