Music Choice Videos have no sound

When I choose to use Music Choice video channels (Music Choice Max) they have no sound. I can see the videos and I can choose other MC channels but there isn’t any sound.

Hey @Chandlern3, we're happy to help get your Music Choice channels working again.


Let's try some common fixes for audio issues first.

  • Reset your DIRECTV Receiver
  • Make sure the cables that connect your DIRECTV Receiver to your TV are secure. Disconnect and reconnect them to ensure they are getting the best connection.
  • Check the Dolby setting on your DIRECTV receiver. This setting can cause problems if it's on and you don't have a Dolby audio receiver.
    1. Press Menu on your remote and arrow down to settings
    2. Arrow right to the Audio option and hit select
    3. Arrow down and select Dolby
    4. Select the Off option


If that does not help please respond with the following information:

  • Is this problem ONLY on the Music Choice channels?
  • Do you have any other TV's with DIRECTV and are they having the same problem?
  • Is your DIRECTV receiver connected directly to the TV or is there a  soundbar or audio receiver connected?
