Free content available for our video customers during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic

I think direct tv should have free movies to watch during the coronavirus out break.

People are asked to stay home and movies to watch would help the pain.

Why is at&t not offering free movie channels and pay per view for all the current elderly and unemployed customers during this Pandemic. We are supposed to not go out and have lost our employment yet directv refuses tostep up and do what is right for all of us who have been loyal customers for years. At&T has control of this and do what is right for current customers. Directv step up. We don't have a choice in this crisis. Prices going up on everything and our elderly customers stuck. Our customers who have lost our income can't pay while wenare quarentined at home.

They have already opened up some free content.

https://about.att.com/pages/COVID-19.html

March 24, 2020

Movies and television have always been a welcome escape in difficult times. With many people staying at home, we’re giving our video customers additional content at no cost during this time.

We’ll kick things off by providing an extended complimentary preview of SHOWTIME for our DIRECTV and U-verse customers starting March 20 until March 26 (if SHOWTIME isn’t part of their current video package). Starting March 26-April 2, DIRECTV and U-verse customers will get a complimentary preview of Starz. In the coming weeks, we’ll offer additional previews of premium channels, while also expanding to include our AT&T TV and AT&T TV NOW customers:

EPIX: 4/2-4/16

HBO and Cinemax: 4/17-4/20

With millions of customers stuck inside watching tv why not unlock everything for us till say..May. it really costs you nothing other than sending out a signal to authorize. Your programming is already paid for..improves morale, and exposes customers who otherwise wouldn't consider these other channels then when this is all over perhaps alot of customers would upgrade to keep those channels making you more money..I see you unlocked stars for a time but unlock em all! Win Win for us and you.

I thank it's a shame that ATT is not giving any free movie channels for this coronavirus stay at home pandemic not even for the kids that are out of school. ATT should be more supportive.

Hello, I just saw in my messages on the top section of the guide a message related to free HBO through 5/31. But when I go to the HBO channels they are greyed out and no shows are on. Only the the marketing screen to see what the price is to subscribe. Anyone else get this message and are you able to see and HBO channels shows.

AT&T is rotating premium channels. HBO free preview starts on April 17 until April 20.

Right now, EPIX is free until April 16.

I thought EPIX was going to be free today thru 4-16, and is not.

Then read on another thread someone stated it starts 4-4 even though my msg screen say 4-2. Standing by.

Okay, Thank you, and will be turning on the TV this afternoon. HBO is 4/17 - 4/20 something like that for all their channels. I think there is some extension to 4-30, but not sure.

@sandblaster Those are always there. Mostly just episode 1 of season 1 to try and get you hooked (Games of Thrones is whole 1st season, and Westworld is episode 1 of both season 1 and 3, but not season 2). If that's the case, message is confusing and needs to be clarified.

During the shutdown, why doesn't ATT give all it's customers all the movie channels for no charge until the shutdown ends? Or is ATT just gready?

If so, then this is FALSE and MISLEADING advertising. At the absolute minimum, a retraction/correction needs to be sent to the same audience. Better to make good on the stated promotion. I forwarded the message to hundreds of others.

I Have seen a few messages on my DirecTV that say there are certain free channels being offered during our COVID-19 Quarantine, but every time I try to watch one of the channels, it tells me I need to pay for it. Can anyone tell me if there is a special way to be able to get those??
