"free" channels offered during COVID-19

I Have seen a few messages on my DirecTV that say there are certain free channels being offered during our COVID-19 Quarantine, but every time I try to watch one of the channels, it tells me I need to pay for it. Can anyone tell me if there is a special way to be able to get those??
