Error Code 775 Frozen or Pixelated Picture

Slide3.JPG

Check out troubleshooting for Error Code 771

Is your DIRECTV screen frozen or pixelated? Do  you see error code 775? This means the receiver is having trouble communicating with the satellite dish or there is an issue with the SWM Power Inserter.

There are two steps you can do to resolve this:

  1. Make sure all connections (wall to receiver, receiver to TV) are placed firmly into the device.
    • They can loosen if bumped into.
    • If the cables going from the wall to the receivers are damaged, feel free to chat with us here.
  1. Check to see if you have a SWM Power Inverter connected. If you do –
    • Make sure the green light is lit. If it is not, make sure it is plugged into a power outlet.
    • If the green light is lit, unplug the inverter for 15 seconds and plug it back in.

The SWM unit is not always in the same room. In some instances, the unit is plugged into an outlet controlled by a light switch. If it is, we recommend moving it to a switch with dedicated power.

If the above does not work or you are continually unplugging power to restore service, chat with us here to resolve this. Just mention code 775. If you need any extra assistance, we will be glad to help.

I cannot believe how much pixelation I have on my genie and hd dvr .  What is the answer and why does not dtv have an answer.  I am paying for the same service with lousy picture.

Does anyone have this problem? My picture freezes every two minutes and I continue to miss my programming. I called for tech support and they sent a technician. His discovery of the problem was to replace the LNB. Guess what I’m still having the same problem and don’t have time to spend on the phone with DTV or to miss another day of work for this issue. How can I correct this problem once and for all?

I went through the same thing, with the techs changing almost everything.  Nothing helped until they changed out my genie.  Since then no issues.  Good luck.

My Directv is freezing up on every Genie and my DVR in the whole house.  It happens during normal programming, tuning to a program and starting it over and while watching a recorded program.  I have a DVR and two Genies in my home.  None of happened until AT&T took over Directv   I have had my service for 8 years.  All of the freezing issues began in the last 6 months.  Each time I pay my bill and think about the service I received  I am about ready to cancel my service and move on to Streaming programs offered over the Internet.

No 775 error, but screen freezes about every 5 to 15 minutes.  DTV support says it's a known nationwide issue.  I'm going back to DISH!  Sick of this annoying "feature".

I NEVER had this problem of my picture freezing  BEFORE stupid directv replaced my standard dove with is had dvr!  They have replaced the dvr once, but it still happens; in particular, it happening on FETV, AHC, WEATHER CHANNEL, TCM that I’m aware I f so far.  It’s a real annoyance when I’m trying to watch something I have recorded and it has to be deleted because of this issue.  Even

watching  live I’m having to flip channels to get it to “restart”, the whole point of the dvr was to watch things at a later time, NOT GET TO WATCH THEM AT ALL ! ! !  I live in an RV and once directv knows that, they want nothing more to do,with my problem !
