Audio Issues

We are experiencing 5-10 second pauses in audio, most recently watching Hallmark channel 565 and Fox News 360. Calling support was a worthless 30 minute call and automated chat was suppose to transfer me to an agent and ended the chat instead. I have troubleshooted and eliminated any problems with our TV. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Hi @rognbev91, we'll be happy to help get your sound working again.

There are a few general steps we can recommend to help with this:

  • Reset your DIRECTV Receiver if you haven't already
  • Check the cables that connect your Receiver to your TV. Fully disconnect and reconnect them to ensure they are getting a good connection.
  • Check your DIRECTV receiver's Dolby setting. If this setting is on and you don't have a Dolby audio receiver it can cause issues.
    1. Press Menu on your remote and arrow down to settings
    2. Arrow right to the Audio option and hit select
    3. Arrow down and select Dolby
    4. Select the Off option

If these steps do not help, please let us know the following:

  • Do you have any audio receiver or soundbar connected?
  • What type of cables are you using to connect your DIRECTV receiver to the tv?

Thank you for your response. I have done the things you have listed without improvement. No we do not have a sound bar and we are using a HDMI cable to connect the receiver to the TV.
