Audience on Demand Issue

With season 2 of ICE starting in March on the Audience channel (Direct TV 239) we decided to download Season 1 at the demand channel (1239).

All of the episodes downloaded except "episode 6 -Facet ". It is not even listed on the download screen, it has episodes 1-5, then 7-10. I called Direct TV, they claim Audience did not offer that episode for viewing. Does anybody have an explanation for this joke.

The channels control what is on their On Demand servers, DTV only sends you to them.

@seriously... Sorry it is the channel/networks that control their programs as they own them, DTV and all other providers only send you to their On Demand servers. It is still up to Audience to fix it.

Hi @molliemollie,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I understand you are trying to watch a particular TV series on demand and our library is missing an episode. I would be happy to answer your questions on this topic

While we provide on demand content to you, we do not control what content is available for the service. What titles and episodes are available is determined by owner of the content in question. We do everything we can to insure we have the widest and fullest variety for our customer so we’re always working closely with content owners to provide you with the programing you want.

I hope this helps to take care of your issue. Should you have any additional concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us and we'll be more than happy to take care of you. I hope you have yourself a wonderful rest of your day!

Riight..ATTCares.[Per Guidelines:  Keep it Relevant and Appropriate].Anyway, right there with you Mollie. And John/ATT, no one stated or assumes you control what content is available, yet you do. How else to explain episode 6 of ICE missing from Audience on demand yet available if consumer purchases DirectNow streaming service for an an additional monthly fee?!? The same thing you apparently did with the same episode number - episode 6 - of another series 'Mr. Mercedes'? Not only am I curious as to the consistency in targeting the same episode number of at least 2 different Audience series (if I had the time, I'd check further in various forums to see if the number is greater than that)

I understand stand your frustration when you want to watch a season and an episode isn’t available.  There are a lot of networks that will have a “missing” episode on demand, that’s every provider.  The provider, like AT&T, provide the service, but not the content.  Just like they don’t have control over what programs air on the network, they just provide the service to watch the channel.

I don’t have DTV, but I have DTVN, and there are 2 episodes not showing for that program, episode 6 & 8.  If an episode doesn’t appear for a program, I will watch it through the network app, if available.  I’ve never watched this network before, but when I looked at the guide, I noticed that some programs  didn’t originate with this network.  Was your program aired by another network?  If so, maybe that network would have your missing episode.  I hope this helps.

paranotary: you stated you don't have directv. since this is a directv issue i'm not sure how helpful you could be. networks will often delay a series episode from being available on demand while they are still re-airing it. aside from that, i don't know of any other networks that have missing episodes of a series, from a season a year or more from its original broadcast date. also, in this case, the network is Audience. Audience is owned by ATT. ATT owns DIRECTV. Therefore, ATT is the network and the provider.

shannon02: even more ill-informed. by "channels" i'm going to think you mean "networks". any networks' VOD (video on demand) server is part of a CDN (content distribution network) that stores the video content on multiple servers in multiple locations in order to handle the volume of traffic for on demand & streaming requests. providers control that access. again, with this particular issue, the network (Audience), provider (Directv) and content (tv series ICE) are all owned & controlled by ATT.
