Hey your tv packages link to ATT TV Now which is a different from ATT TV, Never understood why ATT names two  different options almost the same name as ATT TV - you need a box from ATT and ATT TV NOW -you don't need a ATT box

@ATTHelpForums

I tried asking in a chat with at&t but got no good answers.

What are the taxes and fees for Florida for At&t TV entertainment $59.99 + 2 $10 receivers?  I was told by chat the only way to find out would be to wait for bill.  But Bill will come after 14 day cancellation period. (and what will the taxes be when it goes up to $93 a month? and can you confirm that after 12 months the $10 receiver fee will go away?

Chat representative thought it might just be sales tax.  In which case it would be 7% or $5.60 per month.

On Uverse this account currently pays $25 in taxes and fees, so this would be a significant discount.  But if I'm going to get stuck paying the same $25 in taxes and fees for AT&T tv, then that would negate most of the savings of switching from uverse to att tv.

The fine print says, but nowhere does it say what the "and certain other add'l fees & charges." are.  It also says "Taxes may apply" , and links to the terms and conditions, which don't mention anything about taxes.  Well which taxes apply? Sales tax? communications taxes at state, county, and local level? broadcast tv surcharge? Regulatory video cost Recovery charge?

And what do they apply to? the entire amount? the rental fees of the boxes? the video fee?

"$59.99 ENTERTAINMENT: 1st & 2nd year Pricing: for first 12 mos. only.
After 12 mos. or loss of eligibility, then prevailing rate applies (currently $93/mo. for ENTERTAINMENT package), unless cancelled or changed prior to end of the promo period. Includes: ENTERTAINMENT package, monthly service & one (1) AT&T TV device. Additional Fees & Taxes: Price excludes Regional Sports Fee of up to $8.49/mo. (which is extra & applies to CHOICE and higher Pkgs.), AT&T TV device service fee for additional devices, and certain other add'l fees & charges.

AT&T TV: Subject to AT&T TV terms and conditions. Avail. in the U.S. only (excludes Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands). AT&T TV service will continue monthly at the prevailing rate, charged to your payment method on file, unless you cancel, subject to any early termination fees. Once you've canceled, you can access AT&T TV through the remaining monthly period. No refunds or credits for any partial-month periods or unwatched content. Compatible device req'd. Residential customers only. Pricing, channels, features, and terms subject to change & may be modified or discontinued at any time without notice. Some offers may not be available through all channels and in select areas. Regional Sports & Local Channels: Not available in select areas. Channels vary by package & billing region. Device may need to be in billing region in order to view. GENERAL: Limit 3 concurrent streams per account. Programming subject to blackout restrictions. It's hard to say (and unclear why they can't directly answer).  You might have more luck if you go into an AT&T store (I'd recommend a true company store only, not an "authorized reseller"), and get anything they say in writing.

Some info from a customer of a different service that may or may not be relevant and useful:

For AT&T TV NOW (formerly DirecTV Now) which is a similar service but which might have different fees and taxes, there are no fees per se, and the taxes in Florida work out to about 12% on the service total (no sales tax, but "gross receipts", "state communications", and "local communications" taxes. with the last the largest of the 3, so it may matter where in the state you are).  No idea if the tax applies to the box rental (AT&T TV NOW doesn't have such.)  AT&T TV NOW (currently) doesn't have either a broadcast TV fee or a regional sports fee.  The AT&T TV fine print doesn't mention a broadcast TV fee (so I would assume none) but does explicitly call out a regional sports fee.

I don't know that I'd expect the box rental fee to go away after a year unless they say so - I know that U-Verse set top box fees never went away, even after quite a few years...

Planning to take my elderly neighbor back to the store today to get all these questions answered.
I ran into another issue today.  I tried setting one tv up using Fire Tv stick instead of at&t box, but the fire tv stick doesn't get CBS.  Even though it's located on her home network at the same address.  Is this supposed to be like this?

Ugh do I hate dealing with AT&T tv.  So I'm like 75% confident the monthly taxes will be a slightly more reasonable $7.99 because they billed ~$27 and roughly ~$19.01 of that seems to be hopefully one time taxes on the boxes and activation fees.

The store, a full corporate one, was basically useless.  They had no idea.

They also refused to allow me to return the 2 additional boxes I've realized she doesn't need, since she can just use existing fire tv sticks.  Instead I'm going to have to call and fight with 800 number to get a return authorization.  I said what if I just cancel and return everything? they still wouldn't take it back, say 800 number has to do cancellations.  Name one other industry where a store sells a product but then refuses to take returns, when it's in the return window.

Also the manager was obnoxious, and doesn't understand how uverse and att tv work to deliver content, and he's worked there 10 years.  all the employees and manager said was, what do you want us to do? it's corporate policy that we do nothing.

If everything they said is true, then it's probably fine, but I do worry that they are just trying to run out the 14 day return window and get her locked into 2 year contract without actually answering any of her questions and refusing to put anything in writing.
