ATT TV Pause Ads :-(

ATT TV now plays advertisements when a program is paused. It’s terrible. Reminds me of those electronic billboards at bus stops, except in my living room. Is there a way to disable ATT TV pause ads? I pay a lot of money for this service. How much more do I need to pay?

We live in a era the advertisements is a necessary to bridge the sponsorship for many great programming.

The honest and real answer here AT&T TV/Directv is in panic mode. They continue to lose subscribers at a record pace and came up with this to bring in some lost revenue. Dumping them myself and paying early termination fee when our first year is up.

Usually content providers are ad supported or pay. I am paying, a lot, with ads in every available moment. The pause ads make me so angry. Even Comcast shows a nice screensaver.

What are you thinking? This is not the era we live in. Peacock, Hulu, YouTube. Ads for free, pay for a better viewing experience. On ATT I pay for ads. It’s really offensive.

That's a little apples and oranges - Peacock, Hulu (regular), and YouTube (regular) aren't really offering the same sort of service that AT&T TV is.  It is basically cable, not an on-demand service, and all of the content they carry comes with ads.  That said, the ads on the pause do seem unnecessary - the amount of revenue they get has to be pretty trivial.  FWIW, I haven't seen this recently - though when I pause it is because I need to leave the room, answer the phone, or do something else that keeps me from watching, so it may still be there, but in any case since I'm not watching it, it doesn't bother me.

@ATTHelp That is the most appalling explaination.  I ALREADY PAY you to allow your service into my home, I decide what is to be shown inside my own home.  When a commercial or program is aired that I do not want to see, I change the channel or pause to fast forward past the commercial.  Now YOU are forcing yourself into my HOME with no measure to bypass.  These invasive tactics are why the consumers HATE cable companies!  Stop this nonsense and provide a service that people actually want!
