ATT TV Google Assistance

Google assistance does not recognize the channel when requested to change. get a message: 

"Sorry, I am having trouble connecting to ATT TV right now" 

I have re-paired the remote, reset the ATT TV boxes, and re-started  the ATT TV Modem.

I have all the ATT TV boxes, (have 3) connected via Ethernet Cable directly to the ATT TV Modem. I have had this service for over a year and never had a problem with anything. This just started like all of a sudden.

To get started, ensure you have replace the remote control batteries with new ones.

 

Use your AT&T TV voice remote with Google Assistant.
With the Google Assistant, you can complete everyday tasks from the comfort of your couch.

  1. Press and release the MIC button on your remote.
  2. When the blue light appears on the remote, say your request into the microphone.

If you need help with your google account.

To AT&T employee response;

Thanks for your advise but the remote is connected. All function of the Google assistance work except response to change channel as I described.

@sbonna65, I understand that all other functions are working just fine except respond to channel change.

 

AT&T TV and Google Assistant Troubleshooting
 

Google Assistant Not Responding

  • Make sure to speak after the lights are solid blue
  • Use the remote like a microphone when speaking the command
  • Speak clearly – Google Assistance may not recognize the command
  • Background noises may affect recognition of commands
  • The command may not be supported
  • Commands must be spoken within 6 seconds or the system times out

To AT&T employee response;

I have been doing all that. I have a theory.  This problem started one morning when I turned on the TV. Previous to that there was no problem. Could the problem be the result of an updated to the ATT TV boxes? Just a thought.

Thanks for being honest and telling there is a problem, I have no problem waiting for the problem to be corrected, I would appreciate updates and when the problem is fixed,. Again thanks for the info.

At first ATT sent me new remotes but that did not correct the problem. For whatever the reason the problem corrected itself using the new remotes plus however they fixed the problem.
