Do I need the Modem/Combo?

So I have a small white ONT (I think that's what it is, Where the fiber comes and out comes an ethernet) And then an ethernet goes to an Arris Modem/Router Combo and from out of that it goes to my router. My question is can I just bypass the Modem/Router and go directly from ONT to router.

No.  You must have the ONT connected to the gateway (router/modem).  If you want to use your own router you need to hook it up behind the gateway.
