Volume Fluctuating on Main Receiver
For about the last week or so, the volume on our main receiver has been fluctuating. While watching a program, it will lower itself - sometimes to almost silent, and then slowly come back up. It is 100% reproducible when the channel is changed, when a break in the program occurs like a commercial, and when I back up or fast forward the program. It also will do so randomly while just watching a program.
It does not happen on other UVerse gateways in the house, nor does it happen to other devices connected to the TV.

It does sound like a defective box.
Three things you can try -
Make sure audio language is on english.
Make sure digital audio is on stereo.
If on HDMI, change TV audio to analog (if TV has that option) Needs red/white audio cable.
or change to component cable for analog
