VIP1225 Storage Issue

I just had my DVR replaced, after the previous one suffered from RedX w/ two dots. The new DVR was working fine for about a week. Then one night it crashed and rebooted, erasing all our programs.

Now it seems that we do not have nearly as much space on this DVR as we used to. Right now there are about 18 saved programs; a mix of SD and HD. None of the programs are over 1 hour in duration. The system says that there is less than 50% capacity left. Is this right?

The "Total Space" should be 207.2 GB instead of 41.9 GB.  Try a disaster recovery procedure on your DVR to see if that makes all the space on the hard drive available:  Press the Power, OK & Up Arrow buttons until all the lights are on and let the system reboot and rebuild

Please be aware that this procedure will delete all recordings on your DVR.

This issue occurs occasionally when the reboot process is interrupted or there is some other unexpected error.

A disaster recovery reboot will usually reformat the hard drive to the correct size. This will also erase all recordings.

A disaster recovery reboot is done by holding down Power-OK-Down Arrow, and waiting for all 3 lights to come on. As soon as they come on, release Power, but continue holding down OK-Down Arrow until you see the screen with the gear.

The disaster recovery will take 30-45 minutes.

(I see that texasguy posted Power-OK-Up Arrow, while I posted Power-OK-Down Arrow.  I've seen conflicting posts on that, but try each until you get the disaster recovery to commence.)

Please download U-Verse Realtime, install it, and post a screenshot of the Channels/Streams tab (before you save the screenshot, you will need to go to the configuration tab and enable the Channels/Streams gathering feature).

To post screenshots here in the forum, you will need to upload them to a photo sharing site, like Picasa, Google, Photobucket, ImageShack, etc.

I wonder if doing a hard reboot will not only allow the recorded programs to show up, but also restore the unused space?

Performed disaster recovery reboot last night. Wife and kids were not happy about losing a weeks worth of programs. DVR came back with lots more space (see attached screenshot). Thanks for the help.
