Uverse receiver is frozen up

The main Uverse receiver was stuck in rewind while watching a recorded program. When it had gotten to the beginning of the program, it switched back to regular tv. However, all recordings had been deleted. Now the green light on the receiver continues to blink. The tv has the NO SIGNAL message. I have tried to reboot the receiver and it is non responsive. I have unplugged everything and plugged back in after 1minute. There was no change. Internet is working fine.

Equipment dies and it sounds like the DVR is a goner.

Call CS 1-800-288-2020.  A replacement will be sent for a self-install.  You have 21 days to return the bad one.  You will lose any recordings but not your schedule.

one last ditch thing to try is a non destructive factory reset.  Unplug and plug the DVR three times spaced by a few seconds.  On the last power on, the box should display a gray gear.  If you see this, let it run to completion as it will take some time.  If you see the U-verse logo, you should be good to go.  The box should eventually download the recordings info.  These boxes are pretty reliable.
