Uverse live tv pixelating/freezing when DVR is recording

This started about a week ago. When our DVR starts recording a show, all channels on Uverse become pixelated and/or freeze. We cannot watch tv. The show that is recorded is also pixelated/frozen when we try to watch it the next day. We have a brand new Uverse receiver (the tech support thought that was the problem) but it continues to happen.

Is your DVR connected directly to the AT&T Gateway?

Is it connected via Ethernet or Coax?

Have there been any recent changes to your network equipment?

Does this happen when you're watching TV without recording it?

Does this happen to a recorded show when you're recording and not watching something else?

Do you have Fiber or VDSL2 (and what speed if VDSL2)?
