Uverse doesn't work in a room

On average I am having to reboot my STBs once a week. Imagine having to walk up and down 3 flights of stairs about 20 times constantly rebooting/unplugging/pressing WPS button. The instructions displayed on screen are garbage. In additional to holding the power button for 10 seconds, have also tried power button plus okay button for 10 seconds and power button plus down arrow for 10 seconds. I'm starting to believe it isn't the firmware but the hardware is garbage and need to replace.

Unplug your gateway. Wait 30 seconds, plug it back in. It that doesn’t help, call (800) 288-2020 and request a tech visit.

Thanks @browndk26, it worked! Any standard procedure you are aware of in regards to order of operations I can use in future so I'm not getting in 10K steps just when trying to fix?

Unplug and plug in dvr first if having picture problems. If that doesn’t work, unplug and plug in gateway. 95% of the time that should fix picture problems.

thanks again! when ive tried the hard reset it normally takes 10 stairway trips. will certainly try this first next time.
