TV Volume level lower after syncing AT&T remote with the TV

I’ve been trying to help my neighbor who has ATT U-verse and is blind. She asked me to help re-sync her ATT remote so that it would control her Insignia TV. I found the booklet, entered the code and it was working to power on and adjust the volume of the TV. The problem now is that it appears the volume is much lower at the maximum volume setting than it was before I re-synced it (both using the ATT remote and TV remote) So basically, when the volume is maxed out now, it’s not near as loud as it was before the resync.

This model TV has a built in DVD player...however the volume in DVD mode seems to be closer to the volume levels previous with the ATT U-verse box. There are no separate audio cables running from the U-verse to the TV (just the HDMI)

Anyone have a clue why this might be happening now? My initial thought was if it was the TV, the same problem would happen in DVD mode...but it’s not...just with the U-verse box. Any suggestions appreciated...thanks.

Here's what happened. It is possible to program the remote to control audio volume of the Uverse set-top box. You'll have to reprogram the remote to this mode, set volume to max, which is 25, then return the remote to control the TV.  Good luck.

You might want to play around with the receiver's output volume.  There's a section in that remote manual on how to do that.  I think it's in the Advanced Features section.
