Series are not being scheduled for record (need confirmation)

I just checked my recording schedule for next week and starting this Sunday 2/17 and noticed none of my normal series records are scheduled to be recorded and the schedule only goes out 9 days as opposed to the usual 12.  The grid however still goes out the usual 12.  The series are still listed as series.  They didn't go away.  Just none of them show as scheduled to be recorded.  If I take one of those programs and reschedule it for series record then it gets scheduled and of course then I have two copies of it in the series list.  I certainly don't want to do this for every series especially if the new ones stop scheduling too.

Basically it's acting like the data for those series I have flagged for series record is not being used for the scheduling unless I create a new instance of the series in that list.  And at this point I don't even know if the new data will stick.

So I just want to know if this is a "glitch" unique to me or are others seeing this too?  Is it regional (I'm in San Francisco bay area)?

Note, there was a similar thread about a problem like this back in November.  Just wondering if it's now my turn in this area.

I figured I start a new thread on this problem in case it isn't related to that other thread.  But just in case it is, @DavidCS are you listening?

Don't ask about the usual troubleshooting steps.  Of course I did them!

Also in Texas (Frisco/DFW), just spent 45 minutes on the phone with support.  They did all the standard stuff - DVR and RG reboots, factory reset of RG.  Wanted to factory reset my DVR - not a chance.  Claim there is nobody else having the same problem.  Sending a tech out tomorrow - won't be anything they can do.  We're going through the manual series changes to get the recording schedules restored.  Hopefully, the fact that this is happening in Texas means it's going to affect some of the Dallas-based HQ folks, and it'll light a fire under someone.

I’m in Texas (Hurst) and just started experiencing this too. Got a new dvr a couple days ago. Same thing is happening.

@_xyzzy_ It's 3 years later I'm in Florida, and I'm having the exact same problem.  Although I didn't notice it until today so I only have 2 more days of scheduled recordings, even though guide goes out it's normal 12 days.

I have 350 series recordings(many for shows that are off the air, that I haven't gotten around to deleting).  Resetting them all manually from reruns back to new will take hours.  Before I give in and do that, was it at least a 1 time permanent fix for you?

@DavidCS Was there ever any other fixes at&t came up with? or figured out what caused the problem originally?

hmmm now that I think about the timing the problem may have started when I  hit 350 series I wonder if that's the cause.  I've since deleted some and am at 335 and the trick of updating a settings change seems to work at least initially.  I've also noticed that some series seem to be exact duplicates so maybe the system accidentally duplicated some due to some bug?

3 years later, happening to me here in Central California. Scheduled Recordings show nothing. If I make any change in the Series Recordings the Scheduled list is suddenly all back.

This has happened at least twice in the last month.

Very frustrating.

@marchem are you saying if you make a change to a series that 1 series schedules correctly? Or are you saying it somehow triggers all of your series to all reschedule themselves?

If it's the latter you may have a different issue than the rest of us.

For us the settings change workaround only fixes that 1 series and it only works once temporarily. Basically it manually forces it to look at available guide listing and set them.  The guide is usually approximately 12 days worth.  So you basically have to redo it every 10ish days for every series if you don't want to miss anything.

If you are having the same issue.  Just to confirm some things that tech support claims could be factors but I suspect have nothing to do with.  How full is your dvr? What percentage remaining free  do you have?  Have many series do you have set to record?

Have you also been experiencing internet or other TV issues?

@madmax988 , thanks for the response. In my case changing one series reactivates all of them.  I’ve got 77% available space, only 8 series set up. So maybe a different situation?

Haven’t had any internet issues. Haven’t noticed any other TV issues.

Yea it may or may not be related to the same bug.  Consider yourself a tiny but lucky.  You seem to be the first person to report thay behavior.

Let's try to see if other than that it is the same as the rest of us.

So when you go to scheduled do you see any shows set? Do they stop at a specific date?

When you do the settings change work around does it set the episodes as far as the guide data listings go?  But then if you look at it the next day for say a show that airs daily does the new day not schedule?  That's how it behaves for the rest of us.

When you look at the guide data listings does it show the triple red dot icon saying a show that is part of a series is scheduled to record?

I see shows scheduled up to 5/7. In the Guide, shows that are scheduled show the triple red dot, but the Guide does go further than the scheduled shows (5/9) and shows between 5/7 and 5/9 do not have the red dots. If I then make a change to a single series all of the Scheduled shows are updated to include the last ones in the Guide, up to 5/9.

Looks like the schedule isn’t being updated as the Guide gets updated?

@marchem exactly.  It's not automatically checking on a schedule it only checks for episodes to schedule manually.

But your issue may or may not be the exact same bug.  Since you are 1st person outside miami region to report this recent bug.  And you seem to be able to have a better workaround somehow you changing a setting triggers all 8 series to manually check vs. Just that 1 series for the rest of us.

I'm curious with only 8 series have you tried deleting all the series scheduled and setting them all brand new?

I haven't been able to try that with 165 series, it would be quite a pain for me to try on the off chance it fixed it.
